I wrote this while I was still at university, working at thyssenkrupp Presta’s Budapest office building an intranet site for the engineers working on the next generation of electronic steering systems for cars. I was using Symfony heavily on that project, and wrote up my thoughts on a sample project to demonstrate the framework’s features — which were quite modern for the time.

The article got a lot of positive feedback. It pushed me to go deeper into PHP and Symfony, and that path led to my first job in London two years later.
